Song Lyrics & Comments

Thank you for everything.
Thank you for helping me see not only
every fault I have but every fault you have.
You think your problem is me
and in a weird twisted way it is actually
You teach me and others not to
challenge you and you get your therapist
your pastor, your friends, to tell
you what you want to hear.
You are great at seeing the speck
in other eyes ... but suck on seeing
the plank in your own eyes.

Look in the mirror!
You can clearly see the problem
just not who the problem is.
Look in the mirror!

You see that you are the problem.
but you aren't able to look in mirror
You are so sure of what you see
as if you are God yourself
... and sadly you're right about what you see
you just have the wrong person you're seeing.
You think I'm twisting what you're saying
but you are unable to see how twisted
how you think and talk.
You say you "I didn't say that" and
if that doesn't work you then flip it to
"You're twisting what I'm saying, I didn't
mean what I said. And if that doesn't work
you then you say "Well, you're just as bad."
Your mind is twisted and you won't
even try to look in the mirror.

Look in the mirror!
You can clearly see the problem
just not who the problem is.
Look in the mirror!

Why aren't you able to internalize
to check the mirror before you speak?
You reveal so much ... but not about me,
about yourself.

It's the strangest thing in the world
to see you speak with so much authority
Little to no evidence for what you know
you see in me where there is so much
evidence against you.

You surround yourself with people who
tell you what you want to hear and you
push those away who hold up the mirror.
You say I dismiss what you say
yet you can't even hold up the mirror
before you say something. You have
the confidence of God, but less
capabilities than a 3 year old.

Look in the mirror!
You can clearly see the problem
just not who the problem is.
Look in the mirror!

You ask if I'm a pathological liar but
do you look in the mirror? Yet, you
tell parts of a story to make yourself
look good and leave out
other parts that reveal you have a
selfish, uncaring heart.

Thank you for this song. I trust that
you will continue to share but I'm guessing.
you may not. Why? You don't want
the mirror to become a song which
could heal your heart and the hearts
of so many others.

What's the solution you ask?
Look in the mirror and see that
you're an imposter and you'll never
heal until you learn to internalize how to
take the plank out of your own eye.

Look in the mirror!
You can clearly see the problem
just not who the problem is.
Look in the mirror!
