1-1: History for Synergy Solutions, Inc. and ActionVISION
Imagine ... being a 19-year-old guy ... and having your mom share a "word of warning" that changes your life forever and creates a business which generates millions of dollars and changes the lives of people all around the world.
Exciting?
Mark's mom, grandmother, and Nora say ... "Mark, you're something!" What does that mean? People say a lot of things about Mark, and his story is hard to believe it's true. In 1991, Mark started Synergy Solutions, Inc. ... but the story actually starts when Mark was a young boy.
Why is it good to understand the history of Synergy Solutions, Inc. and ActionVISION? Hmmm ... hard to honestly put into words.
Let's try this ... in the days of knights, where swords were the difference between life and death ... the difference between freedom and slavery, the importance of the strength of the sword is critical. When steel is forged ... the heat of the fire ... is a large part of the strength of the steel / your sword.

Isn't it powerful to hear the history, sacrifices, work, and risks taken to create ActionVISION? It's impossible to condense 30+ years into a few short podcasts, but Mark and those who are going through "The History Journey" with Mark are enjoying the journey.

Maybe close your eyes and imagine Mark as a 19-year-old boy who is about to get married and has this crazy vision, which was given to him at 8 years old at Camp Fairwood in Wisconsin.
Think back on when you were 8 years old and 19 years old, and reflect on whether you had any visions or dreams of what you would become.
As we are able to feel, at the deepest levels, what Mark, his wife, and his seven children experienced ... that is when ... we will appreciate what we have been given as a gift and what we will give all future generations.

Mark ... knows that he could not have done this without his wife and seven children. The weight of the journey was largely carried by Mark, but without question, it was felt by his wife and children as well.
When a business owner sees massive success, people will make all kinds of assumptions about the owner and how easy he / she had it and/or how privileged he / she had it.

When Mark was in college, he and Rosanna had a cleaning business. "Grandma B's Cleaning Services." ~ "The specialist in cleaning with the old fashion touch."

The real story though, as Mark clearly communicates is that it's not about his interesting stories ... but your own life story. Mark wonders how many times, we have "little things which may upset us" but could do something magical ... if we quickly had the mindset that Mark did at 21 years old.
Are you getting the impression that Mark was ... well ... kind of weird at every age of his life? It's interesting to hear his stories of ages where he was the age you are now at now.
Hmmm ... what a great idea or odea as his granddaughter Makaya would say. An Odea is an idea that has the magic of a young child's imagination
" But Mark felt that the reason Tom was likely able to do that because Tom was 10+ years old than Mark. But then ... Mark had an interesting thought. Mark thought ... "Mark, maybe Tom could do what you now see he's able to do when he was 20 years old."
After 20+ years of knowing Tom, Mark still isn't able to do the magic that Tom can do, but the thought was life changing. Mark wonders how many times we feel "we could never do _____________" ... because ... "__________________." Where as, if we were more curious and were willing to do the work, we could do things we never even imagined we could do.

At the age of 29 years old, Mark got the bad news from Jack Eastman that he was going to lose them as an account ... immediately ... and it was 93%+ of their business. With three children and a young company, it wasn't looking good for Synergy. What was Mark's reflex when the client told him over lunch.
In the past, Mark hasn't really thought of his stories ... experiences and what he's been trough as all that dramatic, hard or something that others would benefit from. He thinks ... "It's not really that big of a deal." ... but ... well ... we're guessing that if you're like us ... you may see things a bit differently and think ... "I don't know the guys a freaking genius or the highest functioning mentally ill person in the world?"
His children would vote for the later ... and ... well, Mark wouldn't disagree with them.
