A Tough Lesson - Hard Questions & Thoughts

How are the Amish like the GARBC baptists? Is that good or bad? Jim Bontrager shares "God offends the mind to reveal the heart." Think about it. What offends us? What makes us angry?

GARBC Baptists

Questions?

If we "over-identify with any group we belong to, rather than identify with God ... well ... maybe we need to look at our hearts? Is God fearful of questions or does He not want us to be curious / ask questions?

Just because someone isn't verbally asking these questions doesn't mean they aren't struggling with these and other questions. If we are creating a culture / a way of life where people fear asking questions ... is that what our forefathers wanted? A far better question than that is "What does God want from us?"

When do I dump a friend?

What a most interesting question. Right? What does this mean? Mark and Luke have the most interesting podcast conversation about Amish and English friendship.

Interesting Right?

Questions?

Luke asks the most interesting questions and is seeking to do the right / best thing but isn't sure. What's interesting is that Luke is 19 years old so it's understandable that he's not sure, but Mark is 60 years old and Mark is honest that he's not sure himself as to how to best do this.
Mark, without question, is a strange guy. Who has a website which was created for him and has a full section on friendship? ~ click here ~
Audio Podcast
If you look at the four levels of friendships that Mark has, it's clear that Mark has given friendship a lot of thought. So, it's interesting, isn't it, that someone who has given friendships so much thought still doesn't have the answer.

Agree ... Have a different perspective with Mark and/or Luke, it's OK. Pass this alone to others (both Amish & English) and ask them for their input / thoughts. At a minimum, it will create a most interesting conversation.

How to treat your wife? - Part 1

Why do Amish husbands disrespect and belittle their wives? Is it because they feel insecure or hold certain superstitions?

Disrespect

Questions?

Often, the reason is that these men feel insecure, weak, fragile and are Wusses.
Here is the Google Doc that Mark Boersma wrote about Men who are Wusses ~ click here ~ ALERT: Read At Your Own Risk
Have they never been taught the way to treat women? Do they not see that the woman was made beautiful in the image of God? Is the man insecure or is he just plain a dushbag? Could this be due to issues with physical intimacy?
Audio Podcast
If a man is unhappy with the physical intimacy with her wife, then the problem often lies within himself.

This podcast covers why men do some of the things that they do. So tune in to understand yourself better.

So, how can men stop disrespecting and abusing their wives? While this question is touched in this podcast check out part 2 to learn about why Men are so insecure.~ click here ~

Do you think that you are a Caring Amish Person?
WARNING: This podcast may offend you! If it does great, it will bring some true colors out in you and show who you truly are.

Care

Curious?

This podcast talks about how Christians sometimes use God to be lazy and don't reach their full potential because they think things are just the way they are. Did you know that you can choose the path that you take and don't have to accept not having any control over anything? Once you realize that you have 100% control of your life then your life will change forever! If you think you have no control over your situation then read this white paper 4-4 "Why I choose not to succeed." ~ click here ~
Audio Podcast
In this podcast it was also shared on some of the flaws that the Amish and the GRCB Baptist have. Do you think that you have those flaws? When you listen to the podcast do you get defensive and angry or do you "WOW I've never thought of that like that, I wonder am I really that bad?" If you are offended then maybe stop being so defensive and start considering the fact, maybe I am like that after all.

At the end of the podcast, Mark goes over some of the natural laws of life and some of the thinking models. Stay tuned to learn a lot about life in a short period of time.

Summary:

Which of these four shapes would you tend to like the most? A cube, a pyramid, a wavy line or a ball? Which of these four things would cause you the most frustration in any area of life ... Out of Order, Out of Control, Boring / Not Fun, Conflict with others?

If you chose the Ball and/or Conflict with Others, you likely will be the amiable personality. What does that mean? It may mean that one of your strengths might be your concern and compassion for people ... and maybe a weakness you may have is ... well ... your concern and compassion for people. See ... our greatest strength, is often our greatest weakness and our greatest weakness is our greatest strength misapplied. It's taking our strength too far. As we learn more about ourselves ... we better understand others as well.
